Irrespective of pleas from his mentor, Minnesota Vikings quarterback Kirk Cousins has not been vaccinated from COVID-19.
1 longtime previous NFL quarterback, Josh McCown, thinks that choice — which Cousins stood by even after he missed four practices for currently being a “higher-chance close make contact with” early in teaching camp — will have an impact on Cousins’ management capabilities for the 2021 time, he told the Twin Metropolitan areas Pioneer Push.
“Definitely, he has a company perception in his methods of beliefs that are main him to say, ‘I really don’t want to vaccinate,’ and that’s his business enterprise,” McCown instructed the Pioneer Press. “But provided the effect and the impact that it can have on a workforce, we really don’t share the exact same beliefs on that element. And I just consider you want to direct the way and do all the things that permits you to be efficient for your crew, and so if you never (get vaccinated) … I assume that will take away from some of your potential to lead.”
NFL players and coaches who are vaccinated encounter considerably less stringent virus protocols, from testing to contact tracing. Quarterbacks who limit doubts in that regard are undertaking additional for their workforce, McCown explained.
“I imagine in the realm of a workforce and understanding everything we do about the science and the protection of it, I would just say it would be hard week in and week out for a quarterback to say, ‘Hey, I’m all for my group, but I’m not heading to do this.’ ”
Following a 17-calendar year (2002-2019) NFL career, McCown is currently the large receivers coach at Rusk Superior University in Texas his two sons participate in on the team. He is vaccinated.
