Law enforcement in Scituate are investigating the alleged use of hateful language by a number of regional middle faculty learners in an on the internet university system, the town’s Choose Board stated Wednesday.

Various college students at Lester J. Gates Middle School “were identified to have made a non-public document on a university platform which included hateful and hurtful language and photographs contrary to the community’s commitment to eradicating this conduct in our town,” the board mentioned in a assertion.

Superintendent of Universities Monthly bill Burkhead claimed Wednesday that numerous learners manufactured “a slide deck containing inappropriate content material.”

“This slide deck names individual learners and team customers and also incorporates comments about race, ethnicity, gender id, sexual orientation and religion. It also features hypersexualized articles and pictures of users of our faculty group,” he and Jamele Adams, director of variety, equity, and inclusion for the university office, explained in a assertion.

The slide deck was shared with unique folks but hasn’t been publicly shared on social media. The composing did not include any threats, college officials explained.

College officials have determined the pupils who have been dependable. They will be held accountable, officers claimed.
