
St Peter Port and Masnieres twinned in 2019, and are hoping to take the next step by involving youthful individuals from both equally locations.
‘2017 marked the 100th anniversary of a important battle in Masnieres, wherever the Royal Guernsey Mild Infantry held the line for the Allies and shed 40% of its gentlemen,’ explained Chris Oliver, chairman of the RGLI Rely on.
‘We mounted a memorial there, and the RGLI experience frequented a few of weeks back, and so for our 3rd stream we required to involve youthful people by means of an exchange scheme for college students in Guernsey and Masnieres to expertise the other.’
Mr Oliver claimed the plan will lead to turning commemoration into tradition. The island representatives will satisfy members of Masnieres education providers and of Jacques Prevet university.
